Focus Group Planning

In today's lesson we discussed how we are going to plan our focus group. We shared our thoughts and ideas for potential questions which we would ask the focus group. We intend to ask 15 people to take part in our focus group and we will hopefully be able to organise a time when everyone is free to participate.

Focus Group Questions
  • Define a Psychological Horror?
  • What do you expect to see in a Psychological Horror?
  • How do you expect a female to be represented?
  • How do you expect a male to be represented?
  • What is your personal opinion on the narrative idea? (We will read out the Narrative to the Focus Group before asking this question)
  • Who do you expect to be the last one standing?
  • What do you expect the villain to look like?
  • Would you feel comfortable with stereotypes being challenged e.g. female antagonist?
  • Does ''Oppression'' seem a fitting name for the narrative of the film?
  • What does the word Oppression mean to do? What mood does it convey?
  • What makes an engaging horror trailer?
  • What would draw your interest?
  • Do you have any alternative ideas for a name?
  • Do you think were giving too much information away in the trailer?
  • Do you think it would leave you asking questions and why?
